Most of the area you are seeing was Osaka castle. If you ask "who did built Osaka-castle?", Osakan kids would say "Carpenters built it." as a joke.
Naniwa-no-Miya built by ancient imperial court.
This is the oldest capital of Japan. We, Osakan, think Osaka is still the capital of Japan. I think we are right. What is Tokyo? I haven't heard such a strange word. Haha.

This castle is very elegant. Current one is built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, as I recall.
Gifu-Castle, famous as a Odanobunaga's castle. Very valiant.

Now Kinjyo(今上)-Emperor lives in Edo castle. His name is Akihito but we officially don't say his name, it is an etiquette. Kinjyo-Tenno(emperor) means "Current Emperor". Might be someone say his real name though.
