About Totoro

Stiff wind blows in winter in Tokorozawa city. Especially, in front of a luncher, very strong stiff wind changes to much stronger winds, blowing through a tall building, and blows and some people fly to Tkorozawa station with the wind. I'm sure, might be. You may see Totoro flies with an umbrella in the movie. The wind might be "Chichibu-Oroshi". "Aboriginal people" in Tokorozawa city call the stiff wind as "Chichibu-Oroshi" because the wind comes from Mt. Chichibu.



Today I heard Higashi Murayama city buys a forest where Mr. Miyazaki Hayao plotted "My neighbor Totoro". The forest is situated next to Tokorozawa city. HigashiMurayama city is financed by Studio Ghibli. http://www.ghibli.jp/

It seems some peoples have a plan for housing land development of the forest, and the city decided to buy the forest to save it. It, they will buy, is only 1500　square meters though, to take a walk, imaging "might be I meet with Totoro", is very enjoyable.



I heard Totoro's age is 1950s. It is a photo of Vega Festival in Tokorozawa city in 1954.
