Random thoughts about immigration Society.

Often, I see a sequence of opinion on Magazines, especially News Week. Writers say "The only way that Japan maintain the economic power is welcoming immigrants.". I think the Magazine is the worst one among all major magazines sold in Japan. Likely the cause is that they don't draw a distinction between America and Japan. Whereas there are many people who buy News Week in Japan, It seems they buy it to know how America think about Japan or they believe they can learn the opinion by reading the Magazine. So, after all, it doesn't mean Japanese agree with its opinion, I think.

In fact, Japan already takes an open-minded attitude toward immigrants. (Although there are non-Japanese want a Japan's citizenship as non-Japanese, I think there is no country foreigner has citizenships as non-citizen.) It seems Japan does as much as it can. But its broad-minded attitude is limited to specialist personnel. Therefore, in essence, to accept more immigrants means to accept more cheap laborers from developing countries. It reminds me France. And it reminds me tax problem.

I think I needn't say about France. Although I don't know much about France, affluence of a country and affluence of its people are not proportional. Some or many specialists say that if Japan accept more cheap labors, small companies has factories maybe flourished. But, who educate them and their kids? Who assure their life? Who establish so much facilities for them? Who pay the expense? After all, Japanese cheaper labors come to have a bigger burden. I have a question that accept immigrants to maintain economic power maybe a nearsighted way. (Of course, there are supporters of the policy)

If I mention about it in my own depiction, I would say Japan is not a New Continent. Multiracial society is a merit of New Continent like America. But mono-racial society is merit of Japan.(Japan has 3 races but almost one.) Sameness of thinking way and cultures has been contributing to ruling this country. Once we break this, we can't turn back. Oh, we may can do it, by retiring them compellingly but constitution never allow to do it.

I welcome people who like Japanese culture to visit and immigrate to Japan. However, if the number of people whose aim is only money increase, other countries will be born in Japan, to put simply. Maintaining Japan's economic power by this way means we make the problem even more complicated or we shift the problem onto cultural abrasion. And when Japan degenerate into recession again, Japan would become as France. News Week's writers say what they want to say irresponsibly. I think they must mention about Japanese civil affairs more from more far-sighted view point.
