Kendo forgotten.

I practiced Kendo for just some years because my ground father was Hanshi of Kendo. Hanshi is a top-level appellation. For this reason, even though I prefer Kyudo to Kendo, I still have a passion for Kendo.



In Japan, there were many school teachers who thump students with Shinai to enforce discipline. Shinai is a bamboo sword which we use when we practice Kendo. It seems there are still teachers use Shinai to thump students. I want to ask you when you see such teachers and please say that "you must not use Shinai in such way. Shinai is not a equipment to thump someone.".



Shinai is a soul of Samurai and is a lethal weapon even though it is made from bamboo. Shinai contains all factors of Samurai. Only we should use Shinai to practice Kendo. I sorrow there are people who doesn't understand sanctity of Shinai even in Japan. Of corse, there are many people practice Kendo by right.



Bye the way, I know there are many swordsmen in America. I really glad this situation. Furthermore, many of them take a serious approach to Kendo. Perhaps, they are politer than Japanese students.



In addition, Karate is not Budo to be precise. Because it is not a culture of Samurai.

Kyudo, Kendo, Jyudo, Iaido and etc are Budo.
