Day 2nd.

Today, I went to my familial tomb. I prayed there and asked my ancestors helping my life. Tombs are scary. Because it is believed that there are many ghosts, who couldn't become buddha or couldn't go to pure land because of their grudge, in grave grounds, and they might curse us. After I came back my family home, I salted myself to evict bad ghosts. I suppose "I salt myself" is strange expression for foreigners. In Japan, It is said that salt has the power evicting bad ghosts and purifying pollution of souls.



Some stray cats visit my family home every day. Today, I was charged by a cat throwing its weight. I did nothing making it angry. I just walked at a path of my family home's garden. It seems the cat tried to escape because it was wedged between my family.



I played at small shrine enshrining a white snake in the garden too. The snake protects my family home from bad fortune and bad spirits. I have to pray in front of shelf of gods by I leave here. I'll leave here at the beginning of next week.
