Oxford, Longman or others?

Some one please tell me about English dictionary. I have "Oxford Advanced Learner's dictionary". I often use this dictionary when I must consult a English dictionary and this one is very good. However, I guess this one is for British English. Long-Man is better for American English? I must buy a dictionary for American English? Oxford one is sufficient for American English also too? Is there any other better dictionary for American English? I guess I have to ask about it to Japanese too because I'm Japanese but I think I have to ask about American's opinion too. Thank you.

Well,I bought a interesting book titled "Dr. English's Listening Check-up". I'm diagnosed. It seems I'm infected by linking virus and preterition virus. The Dr. prescribed for me. And I'm practicing with nurses.

You know, linking words have a bit different pronunciation. "Look at it rain" sounds like "Look ali-rain" "I couldn't give him an answer then either" sounds like "I couldn't give (hi)man answer zeneasier.". I guess with practice, I will distinguish. Now I can't distinguish even whether I know the words or not. I need to adjust to those pronunciation. Perhaps, other Japanese people have same problem as mine.

I bought Gos Ford Park and Titanic tonight.

Well, I enter the hospital of Dr. English now. I hope I will grow strong in health. :-D
