A movie and Dictionary of Indo-European Roots etc

A movie and Dictionary of Indo-European Roots etc

Tonight I watched a movie titled "俺は、君のためにこそ死ににいく(Ore ha kimi no tame ni koso shinini iku)" made by Ishihara Shintaro, the governor of Tokyo. The title means "I go on the Kamikaze mission for you.", "You are the person whom I go on the Kamikaze mission for.". http://www.chiran1945.jp/ Put simply, it is a sad movie. I thought it was good thing I visited Yasukuni shrine last year.

I checked its DVD and found it has Japanese caption. People who can read Japanese can see the movie, I think. Of course you are required Kanji skill. It contained, Tokushima(Awa) dialect(close to Osaka dialect), Kagoshima(Satsuma) dialect too.

I bought two books at book store one is a book about Sub-prime mortgage in America. The other is about water resource war. First one explains how the mortgage issue happened. For last one, Japan has rich water resource. So, we don't care about it for real and I thought I should know about it.

Also I ordered "The American Heritage Dictionary of Indo-European Roots" on Amazon.com. When I searched a dictionary Hayato san recommended, I come across the dictionary. "Candle's cand means white light". Interesting. Candy's cand is also too? Candidate's cand is also too. Roman candidates or volunteer wore white cloth to evince their innocence, as I recall. "candent" means 白熱した。in Japanese. "candid opinion" means 率直な意見(Soccyoku na iken, explicit opinion (almost). 率直(candid) is white. VERY INTERESTING. "candid camera" means "concealed camera". Hmm. Why? It costs me only about 2,000 yen. I remembered I enjoyed etymology of Sanskrit and Kanji. I'll get it next week. Still I'm thinking which dictionary I should buy. I think I need to check them at real book store.

I imaged how it goes if Japanese language has linked sounds.

私は大阪で昨日オリンピックの代表選手を見ました。

I saw a member of Olympic team at Osaka.

Linking one doesn't make sense.

I understand why we can't catch soon.

Well, baseball season will begin next month. For MLB, it is really too bad Igawa couldn't good job with Yankees. I hope he back to my Tigers soon. Tigers was at 3rd place last year. Hmm... Go River Cats and Tigers! Die Yomiuri Giants!

Well, there are many things I have to do tonight.

Have a nice day.
