A Blog about Tokorozawa city in idleness

An internationally renowned dweller lives in Tokorozawa city where I live now. His name is Totoro. He is a God of forests. An anime movie "My Neighbor Totoro" is story about my city and its surrounding cities. Miyazaki Hayao, a anime director made the god of forests into anime. In fact, there is not god named Totoro, but Gods of forests are common idea in Japan. Hayao Miyazaki was the director of "Spirited away", "Princess Mononoke" and so on.

An renowned ghost lives in Tokorozawa city. Movie series named "Jyuon"'s location is in Torokozawa city. In addition, location of the last scene was my neighborhood.

A base ball team, Seibu Lions is in Tokorozawa city. Matsuzaka Daisuke was the Ace of it. Little Matsui was also shortstop of Lions.

Now, 350,000 people live in this city and raccoons range. Sometimes I meet raccoons and say hello and say good bye. I've waited for a signal with a raccoon and crossed at the cross walk with a raccoon. This is not a joke but a true story. 2 years ago, it was in summer, I met a green god, approximate 2.5 meter in length. The god was a snake, Aodaishou. In fact, I think snakes except white snakes are not Gods. White ones are regarded as Gods in Japan. My family built a small shrine and enshrined a white snake at our garden. The snake defend our family. And the God emits qi, I used to feel it when I was a child.



I don't know the why but many Americans hang out at station plaza. I'm not sure whether they are travelers or not. There is no site spot around the station. Sometimes elders of Mormonism speak to me in Japanese. That reminds me, once I asked them about where God is when I was a junior high school student, in Osaka. A elder answered "Over there!" with him pointing a sewage canal. Are they pantheist? Was it a joke?



There are several English conversation schools in Tokorozawa's centre. I, now pre-1st grade, intend to take 1st grade test of English test. Therefore, I consider whether I take a corse or not.



A nice ramen restaurant, named Maboroshi-ken, in Tokorozawa city. The owner is a friend of Kitano Takeshi, a comedian and a movie director. The ramens are Kyushu style. Those are so delicious.

The more Tokorozawa become large city, the more the ambient atmosphere become bad. I showed you photos of Aviation Memorial Park on my blog. The park is the reason I moved here from centre of Tokyo. I needed to enjoy expansive mood. The urbanization in Tokorozawa is too bad.



Tokorozawa station which I always use is in good location. It takes only 23 minute to Ikebukuro which is second largest city area in Japan. It takes 30 minute to Shinjyuku which is the largest city area in Japan. In addition, 3rd largest city area is Umeda, in Osaka city.
