Tonight I saw an interesting TV program and learned about a battery car developed by an university in Tokyo. Always I'm impressed by scientists.
http://www.eliica.com/
It costs you only 1.2 cents to run 1km. (about 1.6Km = 1 mile). Its accelerating force is more powerful than Porsche. It(high accelerating performance model) takes only 7 seconds to speed to 100 miles/h. Porsche takes 9.2 seconds or so. Max speed is over 230 miles/h (High speed model)
Unfortunately, I could find only web sites written in Japanese.
The car has 8 tires. Each of them have a motor to eliminate power loss. Battery is in its "body frame". A roomy space is in the car. The professor says environmental measure is not to bear with something. As to cars, he maybe right.
The Battery is not a hydrogen battery but a lithium-ion battery. It takes only 4 minuets to charge up to 70%, or 30 minuets in the case of a high accelerating performance car. Cruising distance is 200km, or 320km(high accelerating performance model) at this phase.
I guess cost of manufacturing would be the problem.
Oh, I found a video in English on youtube now.
This is Eliica vs Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, in Japanese.
But, I want to drive a Porsche. :-)
No photo, today.
Have a nice weekend!
